inspiration Against Abuse (IAA) outreach to older and senior citizens was a mind touching event that left everyone with a mark of love and sense of belonging. They all aged differently and with different challenges. At this age, most old people in Africa rely on their children and family members for their wellbeing. Most times, they don’t get it. And this could be due to the following reasons:
1. Be unable to render such care.
2. 2. Unwilling to render the deserved care.
3. 3. Do not have the capability to do so
4. 4. Not available to render care
5. It could also be reasons far beyond to their control. Where they are not cared for, they will be left by themselves and thereby abandoned, isolated and helpeless.
IAA staff met with different seniors who had different heart touching stories. It is a wrong belief not to invest for aging. They believe that they trained their children so that when they age, they will in turn take care of them.
Aging can be frustrating when one has no help. IAA gives help and hope to some of the seniors and old people in our community so they can feel belonged.
